This technology, called ‘Q-Switching’, offers an affordable solution for those with tattoo regret as it effectively eliminates unwanted dark and multicoloured tattoos across a full spectrum of ink colours. The Q-Switching process shatters tattoo ink without harming the surrounding tissue, majorly reducing the risk of scarring.
How long is a Laser Tattoo Removal Session?
The duration of each treatment and session varies depending on the size of the tattoo. A small tattoo 1 x 1 inch needs no more then a 20 minute session. Larger tattoos are treated in sections over the course of months with many sessions lasting an hour or more.

How effective is laser Tattoo Removal?
Laser tattoo removal is the safest and most effective way to get rid of ink from tattoos. Other methods for removing tattoos include:
Dermabrasion
involves using a medical grinding tool. It removes the outer layers of the skin in a controlled way before removing the layers with the ink in. It leaves an open wound which needs to heal and significant scarring can occur.
Chemical peels
include Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) peels will like dermabrasion will result in an open wound and aftercare to avoid infection.
Surgical excision
involves cutting the tattoo out, which most would consider as a last resort. Salabrasion and cryosurgery are also options.

The PicoSure laser applies intense light to the ink pigment. This breaks up the ink into tiny particles which the body breaks down and removes over time, causing the tattoo to fade.
No method of tattoo removal is completely pain free. We do provide numbing cream to reduce the sensation of the laser. The feeling is similar to a warm, prickly sensation.
It depends on the size, area, colour and age of the tattoo. Anywhere between 4-10 treatments is considered enough.
We can happily fade the tattoo so it can be re-covered after a few sessions. One of our expert practitioners will be able to advise on timings during your free consultation.
It is a very safe form of removal. The energy from the laser is absorbed by the tattoo ink only, the surrounding skin is not affected and there is no lasting damage to the skin.
